Welcome to the Perth Whippet Club (Western Australia)

The love of the whippet is taking over sleepy Perth.... And about time!

The Perth Whippet Club (WA) is for WA based whippet enthusiasts, and their whippets, to connect locally for play dates, exchange breed care tips and to advertise for whippet products and services.

Membership is currently informal, free of charge and is open to members of the public. To become a fan of the Perth Whippet Club please visit us on Facebook and click 'Like': (
http://www.facebook.com/PerthWhippetClub.com.au).

In the future the Perth Whippet Club (WA) hopes to become an Incorporated Association. Should this go ahead Club membership will become a formalised process. Perth Whippet Club (WA) is not for profit. Funds raised from community events go to support Club activities and dog rescue homes and shelters.

2011 / 2012 Perth Whippet Club Community Participation Awards

In the 12 months since PWC was created, we have received lots of amazing support from dedicated Whippet owners and lovers, from all across Australia. Without the support of our fans, PWC would have stayed simply as a dream for a way to stay in touch with other Whippet owners.

In Perth alone, we have many Club participants that remain active on our Facebook page, regularly attend playdates and keep in touch via email and on our website. However in particular I wanted to say a special thanks to two Club participants that have made a significant contribution to the Club over the last 12 months:

Jo Gerschwitz

Jo was one of the first people to join PWC back in early March 2011. Jo runs OsoSwift Whippets and is a registered Whippet breeder. She also comes from a vet nurse background.

Jo has made a significant contribution to the PWC group through her contributions and sharing of her experiences with other group participants. Jo has offered advice on many Whippet ailments, health and behavioural related matters, and provided many of us with supportive information about caring for our Whippet.

She has also been a keen contributor to the webpage by supplying Whippet pictures and information. Jo has made a major difference to the experience of PWC members through her participation in our little community.

We want to thank you Jo, for caring as much for Whippets as you do, and making our Club a fun, informative and supportive place to be.

Jane Blaser

Jane has been a solid PWC member since attending the very first playdate back in April 2011 with her delightful Whippet Mia. Jane has also been a regular Facebook contributor, and stays in touch via email.

In particular however the reason for the award is for the effort Jane made with helping to fundraise for the PWC Bali Animal Welfare Association fundraiser.

Jane took it upon herself to fundraise within her own community to help PWC. She collected an outstanding amount of $250 which she donated towards the cause.

Her efforts were truly appreciated both by PWC and by BAWA.

We’d like to thank you Jane, for your outstanding contribution towards a very worthy cause. The street dogs of Bali have benefitted greatly from your generosity.
